The ability to call on the advice and help of people with experience allows for people in your organisation to feel confident to use their initiative, and apply common sense to solving problems and implementing solutions. 

Systems and procedures can only do so much. Part of what they do can sometimes be a problem, when the organisation becomes bureaucratic and any initiative is stifled. 

Coaching provides the missing link.
